State-of-the-art on resistance of bearing-type bolted connections in high strength steel

摘要: With the recent development of material science, high strength steel (HSS) has become a practical solution for landmark buildings and major projects. The current codes for design of bearing-type bolted connections of steel constructions were established based on the research of conventional steels. Since the mechanical properties of HSS are different from those of conventional steels, more works should be done to develop the appropriate approach for the design of bearing-type bolted connections in HSS. A review of the research carried out on bearing-type bolted connections fabricated from conventional steel and HSS is presented. The up-to-date tests conducted at Tongji University on four connection types fabricated from three grades of HSS with nominal yield strengths of 550, 690, and 890 MPa are presented. The previous research on failure modes, bearing resistance and the design with consideration of bolt hole elongation are summarized. It is found that the behavior of bolted connections in HSS have no drastic difference compared to that of conventional steel connections. Although the ductility is reduced, plastic deformation capacity of HSS is sufficient to ensure the load redistribution between different bolts with normal construction tolerances. It is also found that behavior of each bolt of multi-bolt connections arranged in perpendicular to load direction is almost identical to that of a single-bolt connection with the same end distance. For connections with bolts arranged in parallel to load direction, the deformation capacity of the whole connection depends on the minimum value between the end distance and the spacing distances in load direction. The comparison with existing design codes shows that Eurocode3 and Chinese GB50017-2017 are conservative for the design of bolted connections in HSS while AISC 360-16 may overestimate the bearing resistance of bolted connections.

Analytical algorithms of compressive bending capacity of bolted circumferential joint in metro shield

摘要: The integrity and bearing capacity of segment joints in shield tunnels are associated closely with the mechanical properties of the joints. This study focuses on the mechanical characteristics and mechanism of a bolted circumferential joint during the entire bearing process. Simplified analytical algorithms for four stress stages are established to describe the bearing behaviors of the joint under a compressive bending load. A height adjustment coefficient, α, for the outer concrete compression zone is introduced into a simplified analytical model. Factors affecting α are determined, and the degree of influence of these factors is investigated via orthogonal numerical simulations. The numerical results show that α can be specified as approximately 0.2 for most metro shield tunnels in China. Subsequently, a case study is performed to verify the rationality of the simplified theoretical analysis for the segment joint via numerical simulations and experiments. Using the proposed simplified analytical algorithms, a parametric investigation is conducted to discuss the factors affecting the ultimate compressive bending capacity of the joint. The method for optimizing the joint flexural stiffness is clarified. The results of this study can provide a theoretical basis for optimizing the design and prediciting the damage of bolted segment joints in shield tunnels.

摘要:

To increase the strength of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) bolted joints, a method to increase the friction force between carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic members was proposed. The increase in failure load for the proposed joint was confirmed in finite-element method analyses and joint tests. Additionally, the feasibility of damage monitoring using surface strains of the cone washer was demonstrated.

Pull-through capacity of bolted thin steel plate

摘要: The loading capacity in the axial direction of a bolted thin steel plate was investigated. A refined numerical model of bolt was first constructed and then validated using existing experiment results. Parametrical analysis was performed to reveal the influences of geometric parameters, including the effective depth of the cap nut, the yield strength of the steel plate, the preload of the bolt, and shear force, on the ultimate loading capacity. Then, an analytical method was proposed to predict the ultimate load of the bolted thin steel plate. Results derived using the numerical and analytical methods were compared and the results indicated that the analytical method can accurately predict the pull-through capacity of bolted thin steel plates. The work reported in this paper can provide a simplified calculation method for the loading capacity in the axial direction of a bolt.

Risk evaluation for the task transfer of an aircraft maintenance program based on a multielement connection

摘要: This paper proposes a framework for evaluating the efficacy and suitability of maintenance programs with a focus on quantitative risk assessment in the domain of aircraft maintenance task transfer. The analysis is anchored in the principles of Maintenance Steering Group-3 (MSG-3) logic decision paradigms. The paper advances a holistic risk assessment index architecture tailored for the task transfer of maintenance programs. Utilizing the analytic network process (ANP), the study quantifies the weight interrelationships among diverse variables, incorporating expert-elicited subjective weighting. A multielement connection number-based evaluative model is employed to characterize decision-specific data, thereby facilitating the quantification of task transfer-associated risk through the appraisal of set-pair potentials. Moreover, the paper conducts a temporal risk trend analysis founded on partial connection numbers of varying orders. This analytical construct serves to streamline the process of risk assessment pertinent to maintenance program task transfer. The empirical component of this research, exemplified through a case study of the Boeing 737NG aircraft maintenance program, corroborates the methodological robustness and pragmatic applicability of the proposed framework in the quantification and analysis of mission transfer risk.

摘要:

Periodontitis is the chronic destructive disease of the periodontium (Gums) caused by host bacterial interactions. The effect of such host bacterial interactions in oral cavity also evokes a systemic response. Numerous studies have found common mechanisms of destruction for periodontal diseases and other chronic diseases like diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, respiratory diseases, and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Oral colonization by respiratory pathogens appears to be a risk factor for development of respiratory diseases and oral interventions aimed at reducing oral bacterial count have resulted in reduced incidence of these reparatory illness. This reflects the importance of oral hygiene among patients with respiratory illness. This review highlights the association between periodontal diseases and respiratory diseases.

Static behavior of planar intersecting CFST connection in diagrid structure

摘要: Intersecting connection plays an important role in the new diagrid structural system for high-rise buildings. To investigate the static behavior of the intersecting connection of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns, a typical reduced-scale planner connection specimen is tested under monotonic axial compression. The failure modes, force mechanism and bearing capacity of intersecting CFST connections are analyzed further in the follow-up numerical simulation, considering influences of intersecting angle, elliptical plate and ring plate. Test and simulation results prove that, intersecting connection can develop fully plastic deformation and provide sufficient bearing capacity. Parametric analysis indicates that bearing capacity of planar intersecting CFST connection mainly depends on intersecting angle and thickness of elliptical plate, while the ring plate affects that little. Capacity estimation method for planar intersecting CFST connection is proposed basing on the capacity of the critical section which is located near intersecting center for a distance of steel tube radius, and the design suggestions is provided in the end of this paper.

Investigation of fatigue resistance of fillet-welded tube connection details for sign support structures

摘要: Stiffened and unstiffened fillet-welded tube-to-transverse plate connection details are widely used for mast-arm and base-plate connections for highway sign structures. However, due to repetitive wind loads, cyclic fatigue stresses are induced and they are the primary source of failure in welded connections at these locations. The resistance of fatigue critical details has been an on-going research topic because of limited experimental results and the variability in existing fatigue testing results. The main objective of this study is to evaluate fatigue resistance of fillet-welded tube connection details by utilizing the advanced fatigue tool in ANSYS Workbench platform. Finite Element (FE) models development and model validation using existing test data was presented. The resulting fatigue resistance from FE analysis was expressed in terms of fatigue life, fatigue damage, and fatigue safety factor to determine the fatigue performance of fillet-welded connections. Existing fatigue test data was grouped to perform a synthetic analysis and then analysis results were provided to determine input data and fatigue limit for the fatigue module. The local stress level at fatigue critical locations was evaluated using a static FE model for different number of stiffeners and boundary conditions. The results of this investigation provides fatigue resistance of fillet-welded connection details in the form of fatigue life, fatigue damage and safety factor for various connection parameters and structural conditions.

An innovative model for predicting the displacement and rotation of column-tree moment connection under

摘要: In this study, we carried out nonlinear finite element simulations to predict the performance of a column-tree moment connection (CTMC) under fire and static loads. We also conducted a detailed parameter study based on five input variables, including the applied temperature, number of flange bolts, number of web bolts, length of the beam, and applied static loads. The first variable is changed among seven levels, whereas the other variables are changed among three levels. Employing the Taguchi method for variables 2–5 and their levels, 9 samples were designed for the parameter study, where each sample was exposed to 7 different temperatures yielding 63 outputs. The related variables for each output are imported for the training and testing of different surrogate models. These surrogate models include a multiple linear regression (MLR), multiple Ln equation regression (MLnER), an adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), and gene expression programming (GEP). 44 samples were used for training randomly while the remaining samples were employed for testing. We show that GEP outperforms MLR, MLnER, and ANFIS. The results indicate that the rotation and deflection of the CTMC depend on the temperature. In addition, the fire resistance increases with a decrease in the beam length; thus, a shorter beam can increase the fire resistance of the building. The numbers of flanges and web bolts slightly affect the rotation and displacement of the CTMCs at temperatures of above 400°C.

Simulation of grid connection and maximum power point tracking control of brushless doubly-fed generator

摘要: In this paper, based on the analysis of the mathematical model in a common synchronous reference frame of the brushless doubly-fed generator (BDFG), the grid connection strategy and maximum energy extraction control were both analyzed. Besides, the transient simulation of no-load model and generation model of the BDFG have been developed on the MATLAB/Simulink platform. The test results during cutting-in grid confirmed the good dynamic performance of grid synchronization and effective power control approach for the BDFG-based variable speed wind turbines.

Effect of eccentricity in reinforced concrete beam-column-slab connection under cyclic loading

摘要: Beam–column connections are one of the most critical elements of reinforced concrete structures, especially in seismically active regions, and have been extensively evaluated experimentally and numerically. However, very limited experimental studies about eccentric reinforced concrete connections including the effect of connected slabs are available. This study presents the experimental results of two half-scale eccentric beam-column-slab connections subjected to quasi-static cyclic loading. The horizontal eccentricity ( ) is maintained at 12.5% and 25% of column width ( ) for specimens 1 and 2, respectively. The damage pattern, performance levels, displacement ductility ( ), energy dissipation, and connection strength and stiffness are compared for both specimens, and the effect of eccentricity is evaluated. It is concluded that the eccentricity has no significant effect on the lateral load carrying capacity; however, the overall strength degradation increases with the increase in eccentricity. Similarly, the elastic stiffness of specimen 2 decreased by 14% as the eccentricity increased from 12.5% to 25%; however, the eccentricity had no significant effect on the overall stiffness degradation. decreased by 43%, and the energy dissipation capacity decreased by 40% in specimen 2 with higher eccentricity. The story drifts corresponding to the performance levels of the life safety (LS) and collapse prevention (CP) were found to be 28% lesser in specimen 2 than in specimen 1.

基于智能网联的特种设备智能制造发展思路分析

摘要:

特种设备是国民经济建设和社会生活的重要基础设施,在特种设备领域发展智能制造、实现特种设备制造业的转型升 级,是“中国制造 2025”的重要组成部分。本文分析了特种设备的特点及发展现状,梳理了发展特种设备智能制造的需求情况, 提出了推动特种设备制造业由大变强的有效手段及发展思路。研究提出,发展特种设备智能制造的指导思想是采用并联式发 展道路,并行推进特种设备行业工业 2.0、工业 3.0、工业 4.0 的发展;发展重点是产品可追溯、质量管理智能化、动态风险 实时监控。在此基础上,引入智能网联技术思路作为特种设备智能制造的发展路径,分析智能网联的技术内涵,着重从特种 设备智联网构建、智能应用开发两方面提出了基于该路径的特种设备智能制造关键任务,以期为特种设备领域推进智能制造 提供理论参考。

算网融合的理念和技术处于发展初期,相应计算任务调度、网络互联也处于“脱节”状态,因而把握智联计算网络技术发展趋势并提出自主创新的战略构想及发展路线成为亟需。本文分析了现有信息网络技术面临的挑战,提炼出网络与计算融合发展的主要趋势;论证形成我国自主创新的智联计算网络核心架构,精准阐明智联计算网络的发展目标与预期效益;深入剖析智联计算网络技术发展路线,涵盖多样化协议支撑、“网 ‒ 算 ‒ 存”一体化控制、服务功能智能编排、内生安全构造等智联计算网络关键技术布局,智慧园区网络场景、垂直行业网络场景、数据中心网络场景等智联计算网络示范应用。研究建议,深入创新智联计算网络技术体系,广泛部署智联计算网络示范应用,加速推动智联计算网络产品落地,以此促进智联计算网络技术的演进与应用。

大规模海上风电并网送出策略研究

摘要:

海上风电是世界风电未来发展的重要方向,经济高效地解决大规模海上风电并网问题是海上风电建设面临的核心挑战之一。本文总结了世界海上风电的发展现状、我国海上风电发展环境及行业进展,归纳了海上风电的全球性发展趋势;从海上风电场单场典型并网、大规模海上风电集群送出两类典型情景出发,梳理了相关技术特征及其代表性应用。在凝练我国海上风电并网送出面临问题的基础上,提出了我国海上风电并网的整体发展策略,并就两类典型情景的送出方案开展适应性分析和评价。研究建议,摸清资源储量、确定统一规划理念,加强自主创新、突破并网关键技术,完善体制机制、确保高质量发展,加强国际交流、促进国际产业合作,以此谋划和建设一流水平、契合国情的海上风电并网送出工程,更好支撑我国能源转型发展。

Assembly design system based on engineering connection

摘要:

An assembly design system is an important part of computer-aided design systems, which are important tools for realizing product concept design. The traditional assembly design system does not record the connection information of production on the engineering layer; consequently, the upstream design idea cannot be fully used in the downstream design. An assembly design model based on the relationship of engineering connection is presented. In this model, all nodes are divided into two categories: The component and the connection. Moreover, the product is constructed on the basis of the connection relationship of the components. The model is an And/Or graph and has the ability to record all assembly schemes. This model records only the connection information that has engineering application value in the product design. In addition, this model can significantly reduce the number of combinations, and is very favorable for the assembly sequence planning in the downstream. The system contains a connection knowledge system that can be mapped to the connection node, and the connection knowledge obtained in practice can be returned to the knowledge system. Finally, VC++6.0 is used to develop a prototype system called Connect-based Assembly Planning (CAP). The relationship between the CAP system and the commercial assembly design system is also established.
